SPEAKER BIOS

Ari Beauregard ’13 
Ari Beauregard is a 2013 Vermont Academy graduate from Coventry, Rhode Island. Ari received a dual degree in Criminal Justice and Psychology from Nichols College in Dudley, MA, and is currently the co-owner of Blvck Rose Tattoo in Hudson, MA. Blvck Rose is a queer-owned tattoo shop that brings an average of 20-30 artists from all over the world to tattoo at the shop. At Blvck Rose Tattoo, Ari runs the day-to-day operations and serves as the Marketing and Brand Manager. Ari also co-owns Pine Tree Entertainment, a visual media company.

James Harris '06
James Harris is the founder of Tin Plate and Dynamite Cookies, two restaurants in Breckenridge, Colorado. While at Vermont Academy, James developed a passion for small business, which kicked off a lifelong zeal for entrepreneurship.

A former World Cup level Snowboardcross competitor who ranked #2 in North America, vice president of the national clothing brand Cuddl Duds, James completed a course in restaurant management at Cornell before seizing the opportunity to transform a historic mining cabin into an upscale artisanal pizza restaurant with walk-up cookie shop in early 2020. Combining his love of living in the mountains with his passion for entrepreneurship, he opened Tin Plate and Dynamite Cookies in the summer of 2021 to rave reviews.

Noah Shanok '93
Noah Shanok was the founder and CEO of Stitcher, the podcast app. During his 8 years as CEO, Stitcher became the world’s most popular independent podcast app, raised $25M from investors including Benchmark and NEA and launched integrations with Ford, GM and several other auto manufacturers. Noah was also on the founding executive team of StubHub, the ticket company. Noah has held positions at the Boston Consulting Group and JPMorgan Chase and received his MBA at the Wharton School. Noah currently runs the early stage investor business development team at Amazon Web Services and is an angel investor.

Hillary Talbot '04
Hillary is a community capital advocate and local investor at heart. She founded Sail Community Capital to help startups and small businesses raise the funds to bring their dreams to life. She guides clients through the maze of crowdfunding to select a securities-based crowdfunding platform, build their debt or equity offering, and market their raise. Hillary is also building a coalition of local investors who want to create vibrant local economies.
