A Discussion About Isabel Wilkerson’s Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents

Zoom
You're invited to join Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Ashley Storrow and English Department Faculty Member Whitney Barrett for a conversation about Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents by Isabel Wilkerson, a Pulitzer Prize-winning author. Caste is this summer's all-faculty reading assignment. Ashley shares, “We look forward to engaging with you on this profound topic and to hearing your insights and reflections."

Heralded as “an instant American Classic and almost certainly the keynote nonfiction book of the American century thus far” by Dwight Garner of The New York Times and “required reading for all of humanity” by Oprah Winfrey, Caste tackles the ways in which an unspoken American caste system originated with the institution of slavery and what it looks like today.
