Digital Arts

Vermont Academy’s Digital Arts offerings include two year-long courses, Digital Photography and Filmmaking. Digital Photography students study design and composition, master the technical side of shooting with a DSLR, and edit their photos with Adobe Photoshop. Our filmmakers study classic and contemporary film, shoot their own short films, and learn how to edit using Adobe Premiere Pro.

Digital Arts electives include Documentary Filmmaking, Visual Storytelling, and The Art of Television. Digital imaging and graphic design courses are also offered.

Students have many opportunities to pursue their love of the digital arts outside of class. Our digital lab on the second floor of Fuller Hall is home to the Morning Mist, a weekly show that features Vermont Academy athletics, academics, and community life. Many students use their digital art skills to produce documentaries for other classes, capture campus life for the Communications office, or create video and print media to showcase their athletic talents.
"Whether it’s taking film classes, or making videos for the Morning Mist, digital arts at Vermont Academy is a great way to interact with people and learn new things. I would recommend getting involved in digital arts at VA to anyone and everyone." - Gabi '19
