Charles McKenna Lynch III, 76, of Greensburg, died Friday, Jan. 13, 2017, in Excela Health Latrobe Hospital.
He was born Aug. 7, 1940, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Charles McKenna Lynch Jr. and Isabelle Dom Lynch. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Cathedral. Charles was a graduate of Shadyside Academy and Vermont Academy and received a business degree from Georgetown University. In his lifetime, Charles was a stock broker with the former Moore, Leonard and Lynch. He had also worked for Bankers Insurance and once owned Wendon Oil of Greensburg and Greensburg Photo Supply. He was a Seton Hill University Emeritus Trustee. Charles was a member of Greensburg Country Club and, until his illness, was a longtime member of Laurel Valley Golf Club. He is survived by his wife, Vonda Williams Lynch; his daughters, Colleen Patricia Lynch, Sheilah McGarry Lynch and Megan Lynch Ellis and her husband, Thomas; granddaughter, Madelyn Davies Ellis; stepchildren, Candace Nannette Ortuglio Campbell and her husband, Thomas, Dina Arden Ortuglio Donini and her husband, Samuel; step-grandsons, Cole Campbell and Antonio Donini; sister, Lela "Lynn" Lynch Houston and her husband, Robert Gary Houston; sister-in-law, Daryl Maloy and husband, Robert, who were always there; also, numerous nieces and nephews. Per Charles' wishes, there will be no visitation. A funeral Mass for Charles will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, 2017, in Blessed Sacrament Cathedral, 300 N. Main St., Greensburg. Please, everyone go directly to the church. Private interment will follow in Greensburg Catholic Cemetery.
