William B. Cooper, a longtime resident of Redwood City, California, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2017 after a brief illness.
Bill, who was affectionately known as Coop, was born October 4, 1938 in Burlington, Vermont to William G. and Lydia B. Cooper. He graduated from Burlington High School in 1957 and Vermont Academy in 1958. After serving in the United States Army, Coop moved to Redwood City where he worked as a truck salesman in the Bay area. Later, he drove charter buses throughout California and the Pacific Northwest. He enjoyed spending time at many libraries, the movies and getting together with friends and extended family. Bill is survived by his brothers Robert F. Cooper of South Burlington, VT and Richard G. Cooper of Waterbury, VT. Nephew, Robert Scott Cooper and wife Diana of Hingham, MA and niece, Tracy Lynne (Cooper) and husband Fernando Cresta and their children Nicholas and Sophia of Shelburne, VT. Coop is also survived by a special friend, Kitty Nelson and her children Laura Nelson, Maria Gondorf, Jennifer Crettol, and James Nelson (Coop's godson) from Redwood City, CA. A memorial service will be held at Crippen and Flynn Woodside Chapel, 400 Woodside Road, Redwood City, CA on Saturday, July 29th at 11:00 am.
