One Day for VA Results

We’re shouting from the top of the ski jump about One Day for VA! The enthusiasm and commitment shown on this day truly reaffirmed our belief in our mission. Individuals from across our community embraced the call to action with 383 donors making a gift, an increase of 25% over last year. Although the event is focused on participation, it did also successfully raise $105,793 for Vermont Academy, an increase of 30% compared to last year.
“I am profoundly grateful to everyone who contributed to Vermont Academy during One Day for VA,” said Head of School Dr. Jennifer Zaccara. This outpouring of generosity demonstrates the love that VA family and friends feel for this school, and the pride they take in supporting Vermont Academy’s mission to transform student lives.”

The giving day kicked off with pastries in the faculty room in Fuller for all the faculty and staff who do so much for the school each and every day. The energy then moved to Aldrich Lounge, where students wrote thank you notes to donors and enjoyed cupcakes topped with special VA flags.

That afternoon, Vermont Academy successfully exceeded the initial 250 donor goal. This unlocked a second challenge of 300 donors. These incentives would not have been possible without VA supporters Chris Sinclair ’67 and Steve and Allison Shapiro P’22. These generous individuals committed a total of $35,000 to inspire others to join them in supporting Vermont Academy.

All gifts made to Vermont Academy during One Day for VA truly make a difference to our current and future students. With recent global events on our minds, we recognize the tremendous power that philanthropy can have in helping make the world a better place. Thank you for showing your support of Vermont Academy to help make a significant difference in student lives.
