Reunion Weekend

Get ready for Reunion 2019!!

September 27-29, 2019

The weekend kicks off on Friday (9/27) as we celebrate the 50th reunion of the Class of 1969 and concludes on Sunday (9/29) after the post-alumni soccer game BBQ.  Hope you'll join us on our hilltop for some or all of the weekend.



Tentative Reunion Schedule

Friday
11:50am Join VA students, faculty and staff at our weekly Community Lunch (Shepardson Center)
12:45pm  Get a glimpse of VA Today – take a student-led tour of campus or attend a class.  
6:00pm Welcome Reception (Great Room / Fuller Hall)
6:40pm Class of '69 Photo- Long Walk (Proctor Hall)
6:45pm Old Guard Dinner in honoring the 50th reunion Class of 1969 (all class years invited to attend) 
Saturday
7:30-8:30am Breakfast (Shepardson Center)
10:20am Alumni Career Panel - Listen to a group of our distinguished alumni addressing the junior and senior classes about their career paths after VA (Horowitz Performing Arts Hall)
11:00 am Get a glimpse of VA Today – take a student-led tour of campus. Meet at picnic tables outside Shepardson Center.
11:30am-12 noon Alumni Association Meeting & Elections (Horowitz Performing Arts Hall)
12:00pm Lunch (Shepardson Center)
12:45-3:00pm Fall Mountain Hike with our Wilderness Skills team (meet at Nick Grout '03 Memorial Fire Pit adjacent to gym parking)
1:00pm-1:30pm State of the School Discussion with Dr. Jennifer Zaccara (Leavitt House)
1:00pm Tag along with our Cross Country or Mtn Bike teams as they practice on our trails. (Chivers Center)
1:30-2:30pm Leavitt House Open House- Join our Head of School for coffee and dessert. Share your Leavitt House memories and chat with Dr. Zaccara.
2:00-4:00pm Back to school art experience: Swing by the art studio at Williams Gymnasium and our Visual Arts Chair, Lisa Eckhardt McNealus'79 will be on hand to help you make an art print or two using botanicals from our campus. We will use our printing press and inks to create 8X10 prints designed by you! No age limit or art experience needed. We use soy based inks that are environmentally and human friendly and clean up with water. Prints will need some drying time, but will be ready for take-home on Sunday (or they can be mailed).
2:30pm Athletic Events- BV and GV Soccer
5:00pm Memorial service at the flagpole (South Lawn)
5:30pm Head down to the big tent at Mary Hepburn's (27 Pleasant Street) for drinks, chicken and pig roast (brought to you by our own Eddie Mack) localvore dinner! 
6:00pm Class Photos at Farm to Table Dinner
Sunday
8:30-10:00am Continental Breakfast (Shepardson Center)
10:00am Sunday Brunch (Shepardson Center)
11:00am Alumni Soccer Game (Fuller Field)
1:00pm BBQ and Farwell to all!
