On Friday, October 18, and Saturday, October 19, Vermont Academy will welcome all members of our Wildcat community back to campus for our newly combined Family Weekend and Old Home Days festivities!


Imagine a crisp autumn day filled with the vibrant colors of changing leaves, the taste of apple cider donuts, and the sound of laughter echoing down Long Walk as you explore campus, share stories, catch up with old friends, and create new memories.

We invite all alumni, past and current faculty members and trustees, families of current students, and friends of VA back to our hilltop for this exciting event!

    The school store will be open on the lower level of the Shepardson Center until 5 p.m. The Vermont Academy Parents Association silent auction items will be on display in the MacKechnie Family Lobby of Horowitz Performing Arts Hall until 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.

    This is a wonderful opportunity to get to know fellow members of the Vermont Academy community before the food truck dinner begins.

    Note: The bar will close at 5:45 p.m. as students begin to arrive for dinner.

    On a clear night, guests are encouraged to explore Vermont Academy's observatory on a special outing led by science department faculty members.

    Vermont Academy will induct athletes Chad Wittman ’98 and Brooke Mooney ’14 into the Athletic Hall of Fame. All members of the Vermont Academy community are invited to celebrate this special moment with them.

  • Silent Auction

    The Vermont Academy Parents Association (VAPA) will host their annual silent auction during Family Weekend & Old Home Days. 

    There are many great prizes donated by local businesses and members of the Vermont Academy family including travel, ski passes, VA swag, and so much more!

    The auction will open for bidding on Sunday, October 6, 2024, and will close at 1 p.m. (ET) on Saturday, October 19, 2024. Proceeds benefit VAPA and its activities, which include faculty appreciation and support for initiatives that positively impact student life.

    Auction items can be previewed now. Stay tuned as new items are added frequently!
