Alumni Association

The Vermont Academy Alumni Association (VAAA) extends membership to any person who has matriculated at Vermont Academy. Its purpose is to strengthen and support Vermont Academy through the cultivation of an engaged, informed, and inspired alumni community. 

In pursuit of this purpose, the Association shall: 
  • Bring Vermont Academy alumni together to advance the interests and welfare of the school;
  • Foster strong bonds among alumni and between alumni and the Vermont Academy;
  • Promote alumni involvement in the life of the Academy including alumni programs and activities, annual giving, and general support of the Academy; and
  • Communicate regularly with members and share positive Academy news.
The business and affairs of the VAAA are administered by elected members of the Alumni Council. Those interested in learning more about the VAAA or the Alumni Council should contact the Advancement Office at

All members of the VAAA are encouraged to participate in committee meetings, which are posted to the Alumni Events calendar in advance of the meetings. Committees are: 
  • Bylaws and Nominations: Annually review the VAAA bylaws and conduct the Alumni Council nomination process.
  • Class Representatives: Support the Class Representatives program.
  • Events: Assist in the development and implementation of alumni events.
  • Recognition: Identify opportunities to recognize alumni and oversee the Florence R. Sabin Class of 1889 Distinguished Alumni Award selection committee.

The Vermont Academy Alumni Association meets annually. A notice will be sent to all alumni in advance of the meeting, per the bylaws. To ensure you receive notification, please update your contact information.
