How to Apply

  • Step 1: Inquire

    If you have not done so already, please fill out our inquiry form and tell us more about yourself, so we can share more information with you about Vermont Academy.
  • Step 2: Visit Campus

    Come visit us in the foothills of Southern Vermont! To schedule a visit please call us at (802)-869-6229, email or sign up for a visit here.

    Please allow about two hours for your visit. Every visit will include a tour of campus from a student tour guide (when school is in session), an interview with an admissions counselor, and time with members of our community.

    If you would like to meet with a specific coach or program director on your visit please let us know when you are scheduling.

    Interviews are required for all applicants. We prefer on-campus interviews, however if you are unable to visit campus Skype or FaceTime interviews may be arranged.
  • Step 3: Application

    The application includes family information, parent and student essays, transcripts, and recommendations. All components are included in the following three application options:

    3. Vermont Academy Paper Application

  • Step 4: Required Testing

    We require a form of standardized testing from each applicant.

Important Dates

February 1: Application and financial aid deadline*
March 10: Admissions decisions sent to students and families
April 10: Enrollment contract and deposit due

*After February 1, applications for the current year 
will still be accepted; however, admission will be granted on a space-available basis. Students from Vermont apply under a separate program found here and have a priority deadline of February 15.

Rolling Admission

We admit international and post-graduate students on a rolling basis. Once your application is complete the Admission Committee will review your application and make a decision. We strongly encourage early applications.
