November Break Trip

Vermont Academy is offering an incredible trip to Ecuador over Thanksgiving break with a Vermont Academy teacher.  It will be a mix of service-learning, fun in the capital city, and soaking in the hot springs as you look up at the Andes mountains! Plus you earn Community Service hours for Vermont Academy. 

An immersion into simple living begins as soon as students arrive at the Palugo farm in Ecuador. Palugo is a fourth-generation family farm dedicated to sustainable practices and providing a space for learning directly from the land and its people.


Price: $1,800 

Tuition includes:
  • Nahual guides/teachers and Nahual assistant in Ecuador
  • Teaching and projects 
  • All food and lodging
  • All community and cultural activities
  • All transportation in Ecuador as well as to and from the  airport in the US
Tuition does not include: 
  • Airfare to Ecuador (around $800-$1000) We usually fly out of Boston (Logan) Airport
  • International Travel Insurance with World Nomads ( $100)  
  • Spending money ($150- $200)
VISAS: If you are from the following countries you will need a VISA,
Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Somalia, Senegal, Cuba, Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (North Korea), Angola, Camerún, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, India, Irak, Libia, República Democrática del Congo, Siria, Sri Lanka.
