Families of the Vermont Academy Class of 2023

We are honored to invite you to our 2023 Commencement ceremony, to be held on Saturday, May 20, at 11 AM.

All family and friends need to RSVP using the form below. We will need a final tally by Monday, May 1, so that we can plan for meals, seating, and other event needs.

Commencement Schedule

Here is the schedule of events:

Friday, May 19
5:00 to 7:00 PM: Family celebration with food trucks and refreshments

7:00 PM: Baccalaureate Ceremony, Nita Choukas Theater, Horowitz Performing Arts Hall 

Saturday, May 20
10:15 AM: Class of 2023 assembles outside Proctor Hall in regalia 

11:00 AM: Commencement, South Lawn 

12:30 PM: Buffet Luncheon, South Lawn
 
3:00 PM: Deadline for all students to depart campus 

Both ceremonies will be professionally photographed and video recorded. We will send the Class of 2023 and their parents an email when they are ready for viewing.

Parking Information

Parking is arranged by the dorm your student lives in. Day student families need to park at the Lucy Athletic Complex/Williams Gymnasium.

Reminder: Campus will be closed for entry from 10 AM to 11:30 AM.

If you wish to attend graduation please be on campus before 10 AM. Dorms will be locked and room cleaning is strictly prohibited during graduation.

Entering campus:

Jones-Alumni-Day Students and Families
  • Designated parking is at Lucy Athletic Complex/Williams Gymnasium and Horowitz Performing Arts Hall.
  • Traffic should enter campus by Main Street from the south. Please take the first right onto Pleasant Street, and proceed to the second left hand turn into Vermont Academy on Shepard Lane to access these parking lots.
West Hill-Sturtevant-Dr. Brown and 25 House
  • Designated parking is at the end of Sturtevant Lane by the dorms.
  • Traffic should enter campus by Main Street from the south. Please take the second right from Main Street onto Academy Ave, take a left onto Burke Hill Road and then a right onto Sturtevant Lane.
Handicapped Parking
  • Designated parking is the small Admissions parking area at the intersection of Long Walk and Leavitt Lane.
  • Traffic should enter campus by Main Street from the south. Please take the first right onto Pleasant Street, proceed to the second left hand turn into Vermont Academy on Shepard Lane, and then take a left on Leavitt Lane to access this parking lot.
After Graduation:
All cars coming to campus after 11:30 AM should proceed to designated parking lots for the dorms where their students reside.

There is NO PARKING ON LONG WALK at any time during moving. We will need this road accessible so that cars can enter and exit campus in a controlled manner.
