Girls to Compete In NEPSAC Class D Tournament
The VA girls' basketball team will travel to Southfield in Brookline, MA on Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at 3:30 to compete in the NEPSAC tournament. VA qualified on Saturday with their victory over MacDuffie.

VA Battles Holderness
VA fell to Holderness 40-65. After going ahead quickly in the first half, VA could not hold on to the lead. Emma Lamson recorded her sixth double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds. Amber White lead all scorers with 24 points. VA looks to finish the season strong with an away game at Proctor on 2/23 and a home game 2/26 versus MacDuffie.
VA Defeats Dublin
VA defeated Dublin 47-20. It was an entire team effort led by Emma Lamson and Madison cota with 12 and 10 points respectively. It was a good game for our young players who got significant minutes and have shown great improvement throughout the season. Kaitlin Terry scored 7 points and pulled down 7 rebounds.
VA Battles in Loss
VA felll to St. Paul's 36-44. Amber White lead the team with 23 points and 6 rebounds while Emma Lamson chipped in 9 points and 6 rebounds. Qwyen Austin and Karen Porl each added 2 points.
Amber White Scores 1,000 Point in Loss
St. Andrews defeats VA 52-24. Amber White recorded her 1,000th career point just before half time and finished the game with 20 points and 8 rebounds. Emma Lamson chipped in 9 points and 9 rebounds. The girls fought hard the entire game and never gave in to St. Andrews pressure.
VA Defeats Putney
VA defeated Putney 55-25. Amber White recorded her sixth double-double with 22 points and 10 rebounds while Emma Lamson recorded her fifth double-double of the season with 13 points and 12 rebounds. Karen Porl and Meredith Anderson played strong on both ends adding in 8 and 6 points respectively. Kaitlin Terry and Molly Brennan attacked the boards strong pulling down 6 and 5 rebounds respectively.
VA Rallies to Win
VA defeated Boston Trinity Academy 40-35 in VA's 1st Pink the Rink event to raise money for Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Amber White led the way for VA recording 22 points and 6 rebounds including an impressive 14 of 18 from the free throw line. Emma Lamson recorded her fourth double-double of the season with 12 points and 15 rebounds. Madison Cota, Meredith Anderson, and Karen Porl did an excellent job handling the pressure from BTA's guards.
VA Loses on the Road Versus Brewster
VA had a rocky start to the game and could never overcome the deficit from the first half. Emma Lamson led VA with 12 points in a 25-44 loss.
VA falls to Proctor
The girls battled a tough game, but lost on a last second desperation 3 point shot by a Proctor guard 52-53. Amber White and Emma Lamson led the team with 22 and 16 points respectively. Karen Porl and Meredith Anderson both added 7 points.

VA Downed by Tilton
Amber White lead the Wildcats with 20 points and 7 rebounds, but it was not enough as they dropped the contest 24-64. The girls played tough throughout the game and never gave up.

The Wildcats fell 26-59. Amber White had another double-double recording 17 points and 13 rebounds including 7-10 from the freethrow line. Madison Cota chipped in 5 points. The girls played hard for the entire game.

VA Loses to NMH
The Wildcats continue to improve throughout the season, but their effort was not enough as they lost to NMH 40-58. Amber White recorded her third double-double of the season with 11 rebounds and 23 points. Madison Cota scored a season high 6 points and pulled down three rebounds. Emma Lamson added in 7 points and 9 rebounds. While Karen Porl and Qwyen Austin each added in 2 points. The girls had the game within 6 points, but could not hold on.

VA Falls to Christian Heritage
Vermont Academy made a solid team effort against Christian Heritage, but it was not enough losing 34-57. Amber White and Emma Lamson both recorded a double-double with 11 boards, 12 points and 12 boards, 14 points respectively. Qwyen Austin and Meredith Anderson played solidly each contributing 4 points apiece.

In the second match-up of the season, VA loses to KUA 31-61. Amber White had a team high and tied for game high 20 points and added in 4 rebounds. Emma Lamson chipped in 5 points and 8 rebounds while Meredith Anderson added in 5 rebounds and 4 points.

VA Defeated by Deerfield
Emma Lamson recorded her first double-double of the season scoring 13 points and pulling down a team high 13 rebounds, but it wasn't enough as VA loses 42-57 to Deerfield Academy. Amber White chipped in a team high 21 points (including 11-14 from the free throw line) and pulled down 6 rebounds. Qwyen Austin recorded her first minutes of the season adding 2 pts and 2 rebounds. Meredith Anderson had a strong game on the boards pulling down 7 rebounds.

VA lost to Brewster 43-28. VA struggled to score in the second half with Amber White (8 points, 3 rebounds) on the bench in foul trouble. Emma Lamson lead all scorers with 16 points and added a team high 8 rebounds.

VA Falls Short
VA falls short in the last seconds to lose 30-31 to Winsor Academy. Amber White lead the team with her second double-double of the season (11 points, 13 rebounds). Karen Porl scored a career high 9 points while Emma Lamson chipped in 7 points and 6 rebounds. VA had a last second shot rattle around and fall out. The Wildcats battled hard and are starting to come together as a team.

White Leads VA Past SBS
Amber White scored a game high 20 points and pulled down a team high 8 rebounds in a 38-34 win over tournament host Stonleigh-Burnam Academy. Emma Lamson chipped in 8 points and 6 rebounds. Karen Porl and Meredith Anderson were instrumental adding 6 points and 5 rebounds respectively. This victory was a team effort and the girls played solidly on both ends.

The Wildcats lost 40-48 in the opening game of the Stonleigh-Burnham Tournament. The girls played an excellent game. Amber White recorded her first double-double of the season with 24 points and 15 rebounds. Emma Lamson added 8 points and 10 rebounds.

VA defeated 27-21. The girls won a close game against Eagle Hill. Kaitlin Terry lead all scorers with 9 points and 8 rebounds. Madison Cota added 8 points and 8 rebounds. Karen Porl added 5 points 3 rebounds. The girls played hard and gained valuable playing experience with only six players dressed.

Vermont Academy Falls to KUA The VA Wildcats lost a hard fought battle versus KUA 71-24. Amber White '11 led VA with 9 points and 8 rebounds going 7 for 12 from the free throw line. Emma Lamson '11 pulled down a team high 10 rebounds and chipped in 4 points. Karen Porl had a strong debut for the Wildcats adding 7 points and 2 rebounds. VA will look to rebound against Tilton on Wednesday, tip-off is scheduled for 3:00 at home.
