After a two-year leave from the Academy, Alexei Sotskov is back as the Director of Sports on Snow and instructor in the Mathematics
Department. During his time away from VA, Alexei coached at a NCAA Div I University, as well as being Head Coach for the New Zealand Ski Team at the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver, Canada. Alexei's knowledge and knack for instructing comes from years of international coaching experience on three continents. During Alexei's previous six years of leadership at the Academy, the Sports on Snow programs won over ten overall championship titles and developed many elite collegiate and professional skiers and snowboarders.
Alexei enjoys the outdoors, reading and mathematics. He lives just off campus with his wife, Victoria and Jack Russel Terrier, Shurick.
