James A. “Jay” Gundy, III comes to his new role as VA's Advancement Director with 28 years of fund raising leadership and management experience in independent boarding and day schools and university foundations. Jay has served five highly respected institutions, including the University of Virginia, Cornell University, Newark Academy, the Hill School, and Western Reserve Academy.
Jay sees his position at Vermont Academy as a particularly attractive opportunity that matches his fund raising experiences in institutions characterized by high standards, valued missions, cherished traditions, storied histories, loyal constituencies, and ambitious visions for the future—qualities that sharpen strategic direction and promote successful fund raising.

Lindsay joined the Development and Alumni Relations Office in the fall of 2010 as the Vermont Academy Fund Director. She graduated from Lehigh University with a BA in journalism and a concentration in public relations and non-profit development. Through the years Lindsay has worked in event fundraising for the National MS Society, as a conference and professional development planner throughout North America and more recently as the Development Manager and for a web-based fundraising resource for US classrooms. Lindsay lives on campus as a dorm parent, is a Junior Class Advisor and is the Faculty Advisor for the Vermont Academy Student Association.
