  Bio

This is Mr. Tesar’s fourth year in Saxtons River and he is very grateful to be part of the amazing Vermont Academy community. His greatest hope is to create opportunities for students to experience the endless learning that is cultivated by spending by time in nature.

As a student at Connecticut College, Mr. Tesar doubled majored in History and American Studies; he also played a pivotal role in re-energizing the Connecticut College hockey team.  He has also experienced the prep school life as a student, attending Avon Old Farms. Mr.Tesar spends his summers leading canoe trips for Keewaydin, a traditional canoe tripping camp based out of Temagami, Ontario. This past summer he, along with another instructor, lead eight boys on a 38 day expedition through the wilderness of Northern Quebec.  Mr. Tesar is also a graduate of the NOLS Outdoor Educator semester.
