Student Fees & Charges

Vermont Academy is a non-profit organization, financially supported by tuition, fees and contributions. Our mandatory and optional charges are outlined below. In reviewing these charges we suggest you discuss with your student what optional items are reasonable for them to charge. All fees subject to change with out notice. All fees are non-refundable once enrolled.

Miscellaneous Charges

 

Health Services/Student Insurance:
Illness & injury, 10 month $1,895


Coverage is offered through UnitedHealthcare Insurance Co. Parents are ultimately responsible for all charges. International students are required to have health insurance billable in the USA. Additional information will be provided by Health Services. Prescription drugs, transportation to appointments, and overnight nursing care will be billed at the cost to provide the service. Contact Vermont Academy Health Services for additional questions regarding health services.

Damage Fees:
Discharge of fire extinguisher: $100 All other willful damage will be billed at the cost to replace.  Contact Sean Campbell or 802-869-6243.

Refrigerator: $50/year
A one time fee to cover the cost of electricity. This fee may be split between roommates. Contact Seth Gabarro or call 802-869-6258.

Yearbook: $20

Key Replacement (per key): $50

Additional Academic Charges

Learning Skills:
Billed each trimester based on the
number of sessions per week.

1 Session : $ 825
2 Sessions: $1,650
3 Sessions: $2,500
4 Sessions: $3,300

College Entrance Examination:
Billed at cost for the exam taken.  Questions should be directed to Ann Atkins, call (802) 869-6233.

Drivers Education: $500
Additional costs for permits, license and testing billed separately. No refund given once the course has begun. Questions should be directed to Doris Walker, call (802) 869-6265.

International Student Administration Fee: $1,500
This fee is charged annually to all international students and is payable upon acceptance.

English as a Second Language: $2,000

Music Lessons: $35/lesson
Provided by and paid directly to outside instructor. Contact Steve Cady or 802-869-6213.

Art Classes and Electronic Music: $25/trimester
